Form N-MFP Required for Open-End Investment Companies on Monthly Basis

SEC Form N-MFP will become effective May 5 for open-end investment companies to report holdings of money market funds each month.  This new form was precipitated by the run on money market funds after The Reserve Primary Fund “broke the buck” and re-priced its securities at $0.97 per share in September 2008.  Form N-MFP must be filed electronically through the SEC’s EDGAR system in an eXtensible Markup Language (“XML”) tagged data format.  Rule 30b1-7 requires money market funds to file Form N-MFP within five business days after the end of each month.  The SEC Final Rule pertaining to Form N-MFP is available in Release No. IC-29132
